Jaroslaw Obuchowski and Ade Adebisi both scored two tries for the London based outfit in what was their third win of the season.Featherstone Rovers vs Sheffield Eagles RLFC.

Doncaster RLFC kept their promotion hopes alive with an important 26 points to 16 victory over fellow promotion contenders Rochdale Hornets. Chris Spurr scored a hat-trick for the visitors with John Cookson, Craig Ashall and Dale Bloomfield scoring a try each for the Hornets.Featherstone Rovers vs Sheffield Eagles RLFC.

Oldham Roughyeds halted Whitehaven RLFC’s push up the Championship 1 table with a 40 points to 20 victory at the Whitebank Stadium. The Cumbrian outfit never looked liked producing a win with Ben Heaton scoring two tries for the Roughyeds.Featherstone Rovers vs Sheffield Eagles RLFC.
Gateshead Thunder season of woe continued as they fell to a heavy 92 points to 6 defeat at Cougar Park at the hands of Keighley Cougars. Ryan Clarke’s try, which he converted was the only response from Thunder.

Featherstone Rovers vs Sheffield Eagles RLFC.

The Crusaders owners claimed they could not sustain a Super League club in Wrexham and on the one hand they should be given credit for admitting that now.Featherstone Rovers vs Sheffield Eagles RLFC.

That is obviously far preferable than for them to struggle on, living a lie having been granted permission to continue by the RFL, and going bust a year or two down the line.Featherstone Rovers vs Sheffield Eagles RLFC.
Rugby league has had many false starts in Wales and this setback comes at a time when progress in many areas was evident. Without a Super League to underpin it, that progress could now be jeopardised. That is a public-relations play to the RFL but, as always, the dynamism and excitement of the game played at the top level will propel the sport forward.Featherstone Rovers vs Sheffield Eagles RLFC.

Final 2011 Copa America
Uruguay vs Paraguay

Today
19:00 GMT

Thaird Place Information:
Argentina — Striker Paolo Guerrero scored three goals and set up another Saturday as Peru defeated Venezuela 4-1 to finish third in the Copa America. Final Uruguay vs Paraguay.Guerrero set up William Chiroque's goal in the 42nd minute, then got his hat trick with goals in the 64th, 89th and two minutes into stoppage time.

Venezuela pulled one back through Juan Fernando Arango in the 77th, but it could not overcome going a man down in the 58th when midfielder Tomas Rincon was sent off for a hard sliding tackle. Final Uruguay vs Paraguay.Uruguay and Paraguay will play the final on Sunday. Host Argentina and defending champion Brazil were eliminated in the quarterfinals.

In-this-moment:
Paraguay knocked off a South American goliath of their own. In two matches with Brazil, Paraguay finished with results of 2-2, and 0-0. In the quarterfinals, Brazil gave what probably was their worst ever performance in a penalty shootout. It was a rather fitting way to go out, as it appeared that Brazil's failure to score was more of their own doing, than Paraguay's success in holding them off. Final Uruguay vs Paraguay.

With a determined defense that also shut out Venezuela in the semifinals, Paraguay boasts versatile and hard-nosed defenders such as Paulo da Silva and Marcos Caceres. The attack managed only nine shots against Venezuela, and only four against Brazil. So, in 240 minutes, Paraguay only took 13 shots. Still, Paraguay has talented forwards such as Lucas Barrios, and Roque Santa Cruz. Finding them the ball has proven to be the challenge, though. Final Uruguay vs Paraguay.

Both squads have received solid performances from their goalkeepers. It will be interesting if Uruguay's Fernando Muslera and Paraguay's Justo Villar will be tested in a penalty shootout. Final Uruguay vs Paraguay.

  2011 Copa America Final

 Uruguay  vs  Paraguay

Sunday, July 24, 2011                   Antonio Vespucio Liberti

It’s final time in Argentina’s 2011 Copa America and you’d have to be dead from the neck up not to be excited about this South American clash.  Uruguay  vs  Paraguay. The Copa America 2011 competition has been characterised by the falling of giants as Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Colombia all went out at the quarter final stage. This left four underdogs to scrap it out for the big prize, but as pub bores and school yard scrappers will never tire of telling you, “It’s not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the FIGHT in the dog.  Uruguay  vs  Paraguay.

Roque Santa CruzThis final will be no dogs’ dinner; we’re in for a treat as Uruguay take on Paraguay in the Copa America final on Sunday the 24th of July. Even if it happens to be your anniversary that day, this match promises to be worth a watch and why not buy the missus something nice with your soccer betting winnings? Uruguay  vs  Paraguay.

Information of seme-final:
*1st : saw Peru bow out to Uruguay  on the 19th July at the La Plata Stadium. The match was a lot more open than many expected as Uruguay took the match within 90 minutes, 2-0. Man of the hour was Liverpool’s Luis Suarez who scored both of Uruguay’s second-half goals to sink the Peruvians, and send Uruguay into their first Copa final since 1999.

Suarez netted twice inside five minutes to settle the game in the early stages of the second half. Not only did his goals ensure Uruguayan babies will be named after him all this week, it also took him level with top-scorer for the tournament, Sergio Aguero. It’s worth noting that Aguero went out with Argentina, so only Suarez can add to his goal tally. Peru didn’t do themselves any favours when their captain Juan Manuel Vargas was red carded for a nasty elbow. But the people of Peru will still give them a heroes’ welcome for what they achieved this tournament. Now Uruguay  vs  Paraguay.

*2nd: saw Paraguay beat Venezuela. They made heavy work of it though as neither team was able to break down the other inside 90 minutes, what’s more they couldn’t find a goal even in extra time. So it came down to penalties, it was all even after four spot kicks then Riveros put Paraguay 3-2, but next up Venezuela’s Lucena missed his kick to put the advantage squarely with Paraguay. Pressure brought forth diamonds as Martinez kept his nerve and buried his penalty, next up was Fedor for Venezuela , it would be adios Venezuela but he dutifully scored for his country. With the penalty shoot-out scores at 4-3. Step up Darío Verón, your country needs you… He shoots… He scores! and there’s no need for Venezuela to take their fifth penalty. Interestingly, Paraguay have made it to the final without winning a single game in 90 minutes. They drew all three group games and have needed penalties in the knock out stages.

Now it’s the Copa America 2011 final:   Uruguay  vs  Paraguay.

This handicapper is going out on a limb with this one, after his success in both semi-finals  I think there will be goals, both ways Uruguay have won the Copa America three times, while Paraguay have won it just the once. It’s six times, which could mean they’re more used to NOT winning finals? There has only been one 0-0 final in the Copa America era, in the 1979 playoff. So discount that scoreline. There have been plenty of clean sheets but I feel that although Uruguay will score, they won’t be the only one. Copa America 2011 final:   Uruguay  vs  Paraguay.

CS Gaz Metan   vs  KuPS Kuopio

21-07-2011 from 17:00 until 19:00

Information:

Austrian Bundesliga rivals Salzburg and Austria Wien overcame respective opponents SK Liepājas Metalurgs and FK Rudar Pljevlja by three-goal margins to leave themselves with a slightly stronger hand than 2009/10 runners-up Fulham. Martin Jol's men will nonetheless be expectant of a third round match-up with NK Domžale or RNK Split following their 3-1 triumph at Crusaders FC.        CS Gaz Metan   vs  KuPS Kuopio.

The most emphatic result of the first leg was posted by aek Larnaca, who can begin looking forward to facing FK Mladá Boleslav after they humbled Floriana FC 8-0 in Malta. Several ties retain plenty of intrigue, though, and not least the meeting between MŠK Žilina and KR, who were rubbing shoulders with Chelsea FC and Olympique de Marseille in last season's UEFA Champions League group stage.FC. CS Gaz Metan   vs  KuPS Kuopio.

The winners of that tie will face either Llanelli or Dinamo Tbilisi in the next round, the Welsh side having also pulled off a surprise by overcoming their Georgian counterparts 2-1 at Parc Y Scarlets thanks to Jordan Follows' double. Had the hosts not conceded a late penalty which was converted by David Odikadze, they might already be contemplating their next mission.FC. CS Gaz Metan   vs  KuPS Kuopio.

Elsewhere, there are 13 ties still level at the halfway stage and nine clubs looking to maintain or augment 1-0 leads achieved in the first leg, with KuPS flying the flag for Finland against CS Gaz Metan Mediaş of Romania and Greek outfit Olympiacos Volou one up on Serbia's FK Rad. KVC Westerlo of Belgium hold the edge on Finnish side TPS Turku thanks to Geoffrey Cabeke's last-gasp winner, meanwhile.FC. CS Gaz Metan   vs  KuPS Kuopio.

Uefa Under 19 Championship

Spain U19  vs  Belgium U19
20-07-2011 from 18:00 until 20:00

Big and unwieldy, it sprawls over three stages and whittles a starting group of 52 teams down to a final seven, who then join the hosts in the Final Tournament stage.

This year’s hosts, Romania, are joined by teams from Ireland, Czech Republic, Greece, Serbia, Turkey, Belgium and Spain, all of whom booked their places on the plane to Bucharest by virtue of their performance during a highly competitive Elite Round.
Surprise, surprise: it’s the Spanish! Having won the tournament four times in the last decade and narrowly lost to France in last year’s final, Spain more than a touch of pedigree when it comes to dominating at this level. Their coach Gines Melendez may have taken the reins only recently, but as a former coach of the U17 team, he’s more than familiar with the array of talent under his command.Spain U19  vs  Belgium U19.

Greece, who managed to oust the defending champions en route to taking maximum points during their Elite Round campaign look the most likely to threaten the Iberian hegemony, but the bookies would have you believe the Czech Republic are worthy second favourites. Well spotted. Ireland enter the competition as something of an unknown quantity. It’s generally accepted that football at this level has a high turnover of players (you know, what with their ageing and all), but coach Paul Doolin, of Drogheda United fame.Spain U19  vs  Belgium U19.

We won the first two games in Bulgaria but then lost to Serbia, who looked stronger technically and physically. I’d had no involvement in picking that squad so I wanted to see what was available to me. I had a look round the clubs in England, where most of our players are. Then we went to Cyprus with a blend of some players from the qualifying round and some I’d introduced and we did well again. Our elite round was good but this is another step up. We’re really looking forward to it.Spain U19  vs  Belgium U19.

They’re unbeaten in seven matches and their progression from the Elite Round did include an improbable thrashing of Italy, a berth in the semi-finals looks anything but secure. Some of the pundits think that we may have been dealt with an easier group at these finals, missing out on the big teams such as Spain and Turkey, but I can guarantee that every player in this squad is mindful of the threat that teams such as Czech Republic, Greece and the hosts, Romania possess. With just eight teams at these finals, every team is here on merit [except Romania] and we will not be taking anybody for granted. Spain U19  vs  Belgium U19.

The Nippon Professional Baseball League, Japanese baseball!
Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks  vs  Saitama Seibu Lions
Regular Season
20-07-2011 from 09:00 until 12:00

Sumitani said he is winning personally because he is finally a regular fixture in the lineup. But team victories are his sole focus.

Even with his improved direction, the Lions have struggled to get off the field at times, and Sumitani takes a lot of responsibility.
Sometimes, we get hit hard and I want to cut down on those instances," he said. It's impossible to eliminate all of those over the course of the season, but it's a matter how much you can cut down on that and win games that makes a difference in the end.
When the pitchers aren't at their best and the lineup isn't hitting runs, if we can keep even one extra run off the board, it can impact whether or not we win the game," Sumitani said. "If we just keep the games close, we can have a chance to win.Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks  vs  Saitama Seibu Lions.

Saitama Seibu Lions catcher Ginjiro Sumitani has suffered an identity crisis behind the mask.
Not surprising, given the fact that Sumitani came right out of high school in 2006 and was given the chance to start the season on the first team. But he eventually got kicked to the curb, playing just 54 games.
The knock on him was how he called games, but he was the first rookie in 51 years of Nippon Professional Baseball to go straight from prep school to an Opening Day spot behind the plate.Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks  vs  Saitama Seibu Lions.

But he was sent to the farm in May, batting .160 with two home runs, and told to make some changes in his game.
Well, I haven't really changed my approach as much as I've gone up against a lot of the batters over the years and now I'm starting to understand what they're about," said Sumitani, who added the biggest change is that he's comfortable dealing with game situations.I've been able to calm down and play with more poise. I wasn't exactly nervous, but I'm able to pay more attention to what's going on around me. When I was 18, I was just focused on what pitches to call, and wasn't as aware of what other guys were doing.Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks  vs  Saitama Seibu Lions.

But the sixth-year catcher has been forced to find an identity--for better or worse--with the offseason departure of longtime catcher Toru Hosokawa.Last year we finished second and I don't want to have to hear people saying, 'They're not as good now that Hosokawa is gone, .Sumitani had a lot to figure out after making a splash early on in '06.
He threw out nearly 50 percent of runners in the exhibition season. He formed one of the youngest winning batteries in NPB history on March 26, when at 18 he and 19-year-old Hideaki Wakui beat the Orix Buffaloes. Three days later, he belted two homers against the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks in Kitakyushu.Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks  vs  Saitama Seibu Lions.

 Firestone Indy Lights Season 2011
Practice Edmonton, Canada

David Ostella says will be the key to winning his upcoming race in Edmonton: pushing his luck right up to the breaking point.
Whoever has the guts to drive the car is usually really quick, a kind of no-fear thing.
But it’s so easy to go that little bit over, and that’s when you spin or when you’re in the wall. So it’s going to be the guy that gets closest to that limit that’s going to take it, and every driver pushes for that.Practice Firestone Indy Lights Season 2011.

Firestone Indy Lights is the circuit just below IndyCar, a junior version of the North American series that will be returning to Edmonton July 22-24.And while the Indy Lights cars don’t exert the same horsepower as regular Indy cars, they will reach nearly the same top speeds — an estimated 192 mph compared to 220 mph in IndyCar. The races are run without pit stops.

Indy Lights drivers will have to ease off the accelerator in tighter turns, causing them to be jolted around more than IndyCar drivers, who often take corners full tilt, said Ostella. But it’s that very pull and thrust of the car that gets drivers hooked from the time they start driving go-karts all the way to IndyCar.
The Indy Lights series has essentially been around since 2002, but changed its name from the Indy Pro Series in 2008 to Firestone Indy Lights.Practice Firestone Indy Lights Season 2011.

Races will be held both on Saturday and Sunday, each a 45-minute sprint of about 44 laps. The races are expected to have about 32 cars in them.
The faster you go the more the car gets sucked to the ground,” Ostella said. The Indy Lights cars don’t have that same , so we don’t really get the same grip that they do.”The cars are nearly identical in size to their bigger brothers, but have fewer “gizmos,” said Ostella. Drivers shift gears using a sequential gear shift on the right side of the cockpit, rather than the more modern paddle shift with the gear shifter located on the steering wheel.Practice Firestone Indy Lights Season 2011.

Roger Bailey, executive director of Indy Lights, said they might be upgrading to a paddle shift in upcoming years, but for now the cost is too large. We’re not looking for the ultimate in technology, we’re looking for a cost-effective, high performance series that treats everybody the same,” he said. The circuit had to lower the number of races. Events sometimes failed to bring in enough revenue to both pay the purse and make a profit.
But up-and-coming drivers like Ostella have still profited from Indy Lights, even if that profit is mainly having first-hand interaction with the pros.Practice Firestone Indy Lights Season 2011.
Indy Lights and IndyCar travel together on the same circuit, so young drivers often get the chance to learn from the best on tour.

Ostella recently shared a pit spot at The Milwaukee 225 with Dario Franchitti, a driver who Ostella watched closely in his younger years. We had a little chat about the track and everything,” he said. “It was just awesome. It’s the guy I watched on TV and now I’m standing right beside him.Practice Firestone Indy Lights Season 2011.

Franchitti went on to win the event. Ostella placed seventh. An acceptable finish, he said. Still, he won’t be satisfied until he gets his first win.

The last 10 years have been hard for Indy Lights to stay afloat, said Ostella, especially during the 2008 recession.

Guiao admitted it would be tough, especially with the perennial crowd favorites having additional threats in new import Donald Sloan and recent acquisition Nino Canaleta to complement Mark Caguioa, Jayjay Helterbrand, Ronald Tubid and Mike Cortez.
Watch now Powerade Tigers vs Meralco Bolts.

There is a basic game plan Guiao and his staff have hatched, however. "If we can keep their guards from breaking us down off the dribble we have a chance against them.
Rain or Shine will have little respite since it immediately plunges into action on Friday against B-Meg while Ginebra will take a breather before taking on the Llamados on Sunday.
Since the semis is a sprint-like five-game affair, however, Kings coach Jong Uichico wants a better slate going in.

Sloan could be a big factor. The NBA D-League campaigner debuted in a 79-83 loss to Alaska last Saturday and finished with 21 points, 19 in the second half, while adding seven rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Better figures are expected of Sloan now that he has had more time to gel with his teammates.
An import very familiar with his team is Champ Oguchi, who will reinforce Meralco anew when the Bolts square off with Powerade in today’s curtain-raiser.

Meralco’s import since the Commissioner’s Cup was tapped back after replacement Tim Pickett suffered a hamstring tear in only his second game, a 91-93 loss to Talk N Text last Wednesday.
Due to lower quotients, the Bolts and Tigers are out of the running for the sixth and last slot in the semis but both are expected to go all-out in a bid to end the season on a bright note.
We will definitely play hard to end our season right," said Meralco coach Ryan Gregorio, whose team also absorbed a 113-116 overtime heartbreaker to Rain or Shine the Saturday before.

The semifinal round of the PBA Governors Cup wont start until Friday, but for Rain or Shine coach Yeng Guiao it starts today when his team battles Ginebra at the Araneta Coliseum.
This is practically the semis," Guiao said on the eve of the match formally ending the eight-game eliminations, with the winner taking a better carry-over record to the semis.
Powerade has not had a winning record in a conference since the 2008 Fiesta Conference, when Jason Dixon led the franchise then named Coke to an 11-10 slate.

The fact is not lost on Tigers coach Bo Perasol, whose team has won two of its last three games, including a 105-81 thrashing of powerhouse Petron Blaze last Friday.
We are disappointed that we wouldn’t have the chance to be in the semis even if we win and quite happy to have the chance to have a 50 percent winning percentage – a feat we’ve never had for a long time.

It  has been a tournament of underdogs, in the quarterfinals we have seen Peru  beat Colombia by not one, but two extra time goals, and Uruguay beat Argentina  the hard way; on penalties.Wednesday, July 20, 2011 Paraguay vs  Venezuela.

Despite the do-or-die nature of penalties, credit where credit’s due; Uruguay took the lead in the match within six minutes, with an early goal from Diego Fernando Pérez Aguado, nicknamed "Ruso" , who plays as a defensive midfielder for Bologna in Serie A. The “mighty” Argentineans squeezed out an equalizer a little over ten minutes later, but Uruguay held on and when it came to penalties  they scored every single one, while Argentina’s Carlos Tevez ) missed the crucial penalty for Argentina.Wednesday, July 20, 2011 Paraguay vs  Venezuela.

Hardly challenge:
If this game goes the distance and has to be settled in the same manner you can get +220 with Bodog with the game ending tied. If you are that way inclined the fattest soccer odds are the game ending 3-3  at a very tempting +8000, 2-2 is still worth a punt at +1800. 1-1 is the shortest odds at +550.Wednesday, July 20, 2011 Paraguay vs  Venezuela.

Venezuela won a game in the old fashioned manner; by scoring a single goal more than Chile within the standard 90 minutes. Venezuela started as they meant to go on as they got off the mark with a first half goal from Oswaldo Vizcarrondo. However Chile couldn’t break Venezuela down and the game looked to be heading to extra time when Gabriel Cichero popped up and rifled in a winner. Chile hardy improved their chances after Venezuela’s goal as they were reduced to ten men when Medel was shown a second yellow and sent off for an early bath.Wednesday, July 20, 2011 Paraguay vs  Venezuela.
It’s the furthest Venezuela have ever come in the Copa America, sometimes fairytales do come true. It was a doubly sweet and momentous victory for Venezuela as it marked the end a ten year wait for victory over Chile as well as their first ever semi-final in this competition.Wednesday, July 20, 2011 Paraguay vs  Venezuela.

But Victor Chandler have the Venezuelan dream ending on Wednesday, they have Paraguay winning at +100 and Venezuela winning at +300. They also think that there will be goals, as they have no goals scored at +650 and I’m inclined to agree with them as both these sides have conceded and scored a bunch of goals en route to the semis. Both teams scoring is offered up at -105.Wednesday, July 20, 2011 Paraguay vs  Venezuela .

La Plata is the venue and Peru and Uruguay are the teams that face off and chase a place in the cup of cups that is the Copa America 2011. Well Peru went and beat Colombia and Uruguay somehow beat Argentina.  Tuesday, July 19, 2011  Peru vs Uruguay.

Tuesday, July 19, 2011  Peru vs Uruguay
With 90 minutes and extra time played, the match had to be decided from the penalty spot, and it was the Charrua section of Santa Fe that erupted in joy. It was a momentous victory for Uruguay. They really should have taken advantage of the extra man, but Uruguay and Muslera deserve huge credit for hanging in and remaining a threat even with 10-men, plus they were utterly efficient in the shootout. Uruguay played much of the match with just 10 men, after Diego Perez’s red card. Tuesday, July 19, 2011  Peru vs Uruguay.

It really is a semi-final that will allow plenty of cash to change hands for soccer bettors.

Victor Chandler will pay out +375 if Peru win, and the way this competition is going it’s not a stupid bet. Their shortest correct score odds are on Uruguay winning 1-0, that’s at +440, but is also quite a dull bet. Some say “if you want to make God laugh, tell him  your plans, you could also add or bet on both favourites.  Tuesday, July 19, 2011  Peru vs Uruguay. Argentina should have beaten Uruguay and Colombia should have beaten Peru, but quite simply they didn’t.

Soccer odds makers head were being scratched the length of the land as not one, but two underdogs turned up to give the bookies, the ball and their world class opponents a kicking.

Victor Chandler had Peru winning at +500, if you bet on that (clever better) take your winning back to those poor heartbroken bookies and re-invest it on Uruguay winning this semi-final.
